We’ve got some sad news to share
Our brilliant chief executive, Jill, will be leaving us this summer for pastures new. Jill’s loved her time at PSS, but feels it’s time to return to her roots in children’s social care.
Here's what Jill had to say:
I want to share that I will be leaving my role as CEO of PSS in August. I have absolutely loved my time at PSS, and I am hugely proud of what we have achieved together, especially the Big Plan. Co‑produced with the people we support, our brilliant teams and trustees, it will continue to guide the organisation with confidence and clarity over the next four years.
Working at PSS has brought me so much joy, and I truly believe that PSS is a fantastic organisation with such a bright and ambitious future ahead of it. However, a role has become available in children’s social care and education, the area that has shaped my career for the past 31 years and a part of the sector that I have missed tremendously. After a lot of careful reflection, I know this is the right next step for me.
At PSS, we support some of the most vulnerable people in society, and I’ve enjoyed being a part of that journey. Meeting people from across the organisation, hearing their stories, learning about who they are, and seeing the impact we have made on their lives is something I’ll carry with me into the future.
I will leave PSS in a strong and positive place, ready to take bold and brave steps into the future and I believe that strength comes from the passion, commitment and heart of the people who make PSS what it is. I am confident that this work will continue, as I have complete trust in our Board of Trustees, teammates, Shared Lives carers and volunteers. Thank you for making my time here so special. I will always carry PSS with me.
What will happen next?
We have loved having such a genuine, big-hearted and brilliant leader at PSS, and we’ll be very sad to see Jill go this summer.
We’ll be working with the fabulous team at Tall Roots to help us find our next chief executive. Tall Roots are a values-led firm who strive to improve socioeconomic diversity in leadership. We’ve already worked with Tall Roots to help us find our new trustees (who are awesome by the way!), so we’re looking forward to working with them once again.
PSS remains in a strong position, and it will very much be business as usual while recruitment for a new CEO takes place.
