Who we are
At PSS, we’ve got an important job to do; and that’s to help people make the most of their lives. Whether you’re working directly with the people who use our services, or behind the scenes in one of our offices, every day you’ll be helping to make other people feel happier, healthier and more supported.
We’re a social enterprise or, as we like to call it – a ‘business with a heart’. This means that all the money we make goes back into finding new ways to help people. Our aim is simple; we want to help people change their lives for the better – no matter what life throws at them. We’ve got offices across Merseyside, North Wales, Manchester, Cheshire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, North Yorkshire and Staffordshire, where we’re making our stamp.
Our quality team have a super important job to do around here — they’re responsible for keeping the people who use our services and our teams safe and supported. They’re the ones responsible for some of the systems and processes that make our organisation work brilliantly and do right by people – things like health and safety, customer service, safeguarding, equity, diversity and inclusion and making sure feedback is listened to.
The team’s always looking for brand new ways for us to make the quality of our services better - and the unique needs, personalities, hopes and dreams of the people we support drive that every step of the way. The quality team works alongside the experts – the people who use our services and our PSS teams – to monitor, report and learn from the stuff that’s working well and the important steps we need to take to get better in the future.
What’s the job all about?
As our quality co-ordinator, you’ll be:
- supporting the team with a variety of admin-y type tasks;
- reporting on the things that help us do our jobs well;
- have a helping hand in monitoring our client management system;
- supporting our volunteer quality champions and student social workers who spend time with the team;
- help with learning and development ideas, planning and admin for our quality training events; and
- other bits and bobs our quality team might need support with (check out the job description on our website!).
We’ll need you in our fabulous office or out and about in our services a minimum of two days a week, but there will also be chances to work from home.
What we need from you
It’s not all about what you’ve done before, it’s more about who you are and what you can bring to the table. First and foremost, we need someone who lives all our values of being big-hearted, genuine, determined, professional and open-minded.
You’ll also need to be super organised, have amazing time management skills and a beady eye for detail to make sure everything is accurate and that data is kept up-to-date on our systems. You’ll need to be a team player and be happy to help your colleagues when you can or when it’s needed.

We use a system called Applied to do blind recruitment. Blind recruitment means that the only thing we know about you when you apply for a role with us, is what your skills are, and whether or not you can do the job. The team that's hiring you won't know any of your personal details or your background until much later in the process. That means that none of your personal information can sway the decision. which means we focus on your skills and what you can bring to the role, rather than who you are or where you've been before.
